Dance On

Dance On

I shot this unmanipulated photograph (0858) on 22 January 2006 at Razzles (a bar) in Everett during the final playoff game for the Superbowl.  As you can see, American football does very little to hold my attention.

I have taken the title from a song by a friend of mine, T. Malachi Dunworth.  It reminds me of the way that Woodstock (from Peanuts) dances.

This photograph has been cropped, resized, shrunk, and had the brightness (-20) and contrast (+15) slightly adjusted.

Striding Ghost (series)

These unmanipulated photographs were shot on 11 January 2006 at a hotel in San Francisco.

She strides through that San Franciscan hotel with great purpose.  I click some interesting shots.

I am quite pleased with the smoky quality produced by her legs.

I will add clarity (I hope).  The black smoke portion that moves from the middle area on up and out through the upper-right of the image is Jenna’s legs (she is dressed in all black).  The orange or amber colors dominating the remainder of the image is the patterned carpet in the hotel hallway.  The yellow section in the upper left is the painted wall.  The dark streak separating the wall and the carpet is the wide trim board.

Stride on.

Anarchy

This unmanipulated photograph (5111) was shot on 17 February 2007 on Leary Way in Ballard.

Mostly what you are looking at comes from neon signs. More strait photography–no digital manipulations.  All luxagraphia.

If you are into digital manipulations, here is a manipulation of the same photograph using (only) the PS filter Craquelure.

And finally, this is a crop of the manipulated version of the photograph.  I really like the details as they combine between what I am doing photographically and what this filter is doing digitally.  This may not come through very well in the size posted above.  This crop is pretty close the the actual pixel size.

As usual, thanks for stopping.

More pretty lights.

This unmanipulated photograph (3530) was shot at Golden Gardens here in Ballard near dusk on 3 March of 2006.

If memory serves, the yellow is from a street lamp (probably a sodium lamp) and the blue is from the late evening sky.  As usual, this image has only been cropped, rotated, resized, shrunk, and had the brightness (-15) and contrast (+25) adjusted.  In short this photograph is unmanipulated, but I already said that.

‘Colored Lights Can Hypnotize’ 2

This unmanipulated photograph (9947) was shot on 7 August 2009 in Las Vegas. The subject lights are a group of neon tubes shaped like a rainbow.

The rainbow tubes turned themselves on and off in a pattern which helped to alter the final outcomes (depending on which lights happened to be on) when combined with my luxagraphic techniques.

Thanks for taking a look.

This unmanipulated photograph (9948) was shot on 7 August 2009 on Fremont in Las Vegas.  The subject lights are a rainbow (literally) of neon tubes.

I did run Auto Levels which enriched the colors slightly.  No other post-production work.  Thanks for taking a look at my photograph.
